Supper Club Review – A Night to Remember at Fateha Private Dining Experience
I recently had the pleasure of attending a private supper club hosted by Fateha, and from start to finish, the experience was a flavourful journey through Bengali-inspired cuisine, crafted with care and creativity.
Welcome Drinks:
The evening began with a refreshing Lembu Paani and a zesty lemon/mint mocktail. Both were crisp, cooling, and the perfect palate awakeners, especially after a long day.
Starter:
The Aloo Tikki was a comforting introduction — golden, crisp, and perfectly spiced. What stood out was the combination of textures and flavors: the tender potato interior paired beautifully with the Mackerel Satni, which brought a punch of depth and slight smokiness. The Mustard Mayonnaise added a smooth, tangy finish — an inspired twist that tied everything together.
Main Course:
The Lamb Shatkora Curry was the undisputed star of the night. The lamb was meltingly tender, and the shatkora (Bengali citrus) gave the dish a unique, bright kick that elevated the entire plate. Served with fragrant Basmati rice, it was comforting and bold in equal measure.
The supporting dishes — Daal, Roasted Aubergine Bortha, and Bengali Salad — offered a vibrant mix of flavors and textures. The daal was hearty and warming, the aubergine silky and smoky, and the salad provided a crisp, refreshing balance.
Dessert:
To round off the evening, we were served Shemai — a delicate bowl of sweet vermicelli in milk topped with roasted nuts — alongside a Cardamom Shortbread Biscuit. Light, aromatic, and not overly sweet, it was a fitting end to a rich meal, with just the right hint of spice from the cardamom.
Final Thoughts:
This supper club was more than just a meal — it was a thoughtful curation of flavours and traditions, served in a warm and intimate setting. Every dish told a story, and the attention to detail was apparent throughout. A big thank you to Fateha for a truly memorable evening.

Such a lovely evening from start to finish
I had the pleasure of going to Fateha's Supper Club recently, and honestly, it was such a lovely evening from start to finish. The whole vibe was welcoming and relaxed — you could tell a lot of thought and care went into the menu.
I loved the mustard mayo — it gave everything a little extra zing without overpowering it.
For the main, we had Lamb Shatkora Curry with plain basmati rice — absolutely packed with flavour. The lamb was tender, and the shatkora (a citrus fruit) gave the curry a really unique, tangy twist. Alongside that was some daal, roasted aubergine bortha, and a fresh Bengali salad. Everything worked together so well — it felt like a proper home-cooked meal but with that little supper club flair.
Dessert, The shemai was creamy and comforting, and the biscuit was perfect with a cup of tea. Just the right kind of sweet to end the meal on a high note.
Overall, the whole experience felt like a warm hug — a mix of great food, culture, and community. Would definitely go again!
